کووڈ-19 کو عالمی ادارہ صحت کی جانب سے عالمی وبا قرار دیا گیا ہے اور ماہرین کی جانب سے لوگوں کوسماجی دوری اختیار رکھنے اور مصافحہ نہ کرنے کی ہدایت کی گئی ہے،چین سے پھیلنے والی وبا کے بعد سے دنیا بھر میں سائنسدان کورونا وائرس سے متعلق تحقیقات کررہے ہیں اور اب حال ہی میں ماہرین نے وائرس کی نئی علامات بھی بتائی ہیں۔


برٹش ایسوسی ایشن آف اوٹرہینولرینگولوجی‘ کے ماہرین کا کہناہہے کہ ذائقہ محسوس نہ ہونا جب کہ سونگھنے کی حس ختم ہوجانا بھی وائرس کی ابتدائی علامت ہوسکتی ہے۔ماہرین کا کہنا ہے کہ سونگھنے کی حس ختم ہونا انفیکشن کی علامات ہوسکتی ہے کیونکہ سانس کے وائرل انفیکشن میں بھی سونگھنے اور ذائقے کی حس متاثر ہوتی ہے۔

ماہرین کا کہنا تھا کہ جنوبی کوریا میں 30 فیصد ایسے مریض ہیں جن میں کورونا وائرس کے مثبت نتائج سامنے آئے، ان مریضوں میں سونگھنے اور ذائقہ محسوس کرنے کی حس متاثر تھی۔ماہرین کا ماننا ہےکہ کووڈ-19 کے مریضوں میں تیز بخار، خشک کھانسی، سانس لینے میں دشواری کے ساتھ ساتھ سونگھنے اور ذائقہ محسوس کرنے کی حس متاثر ہونے کی علامات بھی ظاہر ہوسکتی ہیں۔


  گزشتہ برس چین کے شہر ووہان سے پھیلنے والے کورونا وائرس دنیا کے 195 ملکوں تک پھیل چکا ہے جس سے مجموعی طور پر 3 لاکھ 81 ہزار سے زائد افراد متاثر اور 16 ہزار 553 افراد ہلاک ہو چکے ہیں۔ جب کہ وبا سے متاثر ایک لاکھ سے زائد شفایاب بھی ہو چکے ہیں۔
